First and last year of issue coins have always been sought-after and most disappeared from circulation long ago. This set of Barber quarters contains the first 1892 and last 1916 issues–both of which were minted from 90% silver.
More than 100 years ago at the turn of the 20th century, Barber coins were America’s standard coin and could be found in everyone’s pocket or handbag. Today, these beautiful silver coins are cherished as genuine pieces of our nation’s history. Designed by Charles E. Barber, the coin’s obverse shows Liberty with a triple headdress of cap, laurel wreath, and a tiny coronet inscribed “Liberty.”
