Kentucky Lincoln Pennies MS67 Grade - P & D Mints

Be among the first to own the latest coins commemorating our 16th president with the 2009 Lincoln MS67 Philadelphia and Denver Mint "Kentucky" Cents. This set of 2009 Philadelphia and Denver Mint Lincoln Cents has been certified in MS67 condition by an independent grading company. Coins are graded on a 70-point scale, where MS70 is the highest possible grade.  However, not all coin issues yield specimens of MS70 grade.  MS67 is the highest grade received by any of the 2009 Anniversary Pennies.

These cents bear a very important one-time-only design and are the first of four different one-cent coins in recognition of the bicentennial of President Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the first issuance of the Lincoln cent. The new one-cent reverse designs will be issued at approximately three-month intervals throughout 2009. This first design represents Lincoln's Birth and Early Childhood in Kentucky. The reverse design for this aspect of Abraham Lincoln's life features a log cabin that represents his humble beginnings in Kentucky with the inscriptions "United States of America" "E Pluribus Unum" "One Cent" and "1809".

Abraham Lincoln was born in a log cabin near Nolin Creek in Hardin (now Larue) County, Kentucky on February 12, 1809. He was the second child of Thomas and Nancy Hanks Lincoln. He was named after his paternal grandfather.

The Lincoln family lived on 30 acres of the 228-acre Knob Creek Farm near Hodgenville from the time Abraham was two-and-a-half until he was nearly eight years old. It was here that he grew big enough to carry water and gather firewood.

This set includes:
