Complete 2009 Lincoln Anniversary Cent 20 Coin Set

This set of 20 coins includes the Philadelphia and Denver Mint cents in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, the Philadelphia and Denver Mint cents with a beautiful Satin Finish and the San Francisco Mint specimens in collector’s Proof Finish.  All coins are encapsulated in clear plastic for their protection.

In 2009, the United States Mint issued four different one-cent coins in recognition of the bicentennial of President Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the first issuance of the Lincoln cent. The reverse of each coin reflects four different designs, each one representing a different aspect, or theme, of the life of President Lincoln

Birth and early childhood in Kentucky (1809-1816) The reverse features a log cabin that represents his humble beginnings in Kentucky with the inscriptions, "United States of America," "E Pluribus Unum," "One Cent" and "1809."

Formative years in Indiana (1816-1830) The reverse depicts a young Lincoln reading while taking a break from working as a rail splitter in Indiana.

Professional Life in Illinois (1830-1861) This design shows Lincoln as a young professional standing in front of the state capitol building in Springfield.

Presidency in Washington, DC (1861-1865) The half-finished United States Capitol dome is featured on this coin’s reverse, symbolizing a Nation torn apart by civil war and the resolve Lincoln showed as he guided the country through its most grave crisis.  It was in front of the rising dome that Lincoln began his Presidency and under the completed dome that his body lay in state.

The Brilliant Uncirculated coins in this collection are as pristine as when they were first released from the United States Mint. The Proof and Satin Finish coins are of special interest because they have the exact same metallic content of the original 1909 Lincoln cent.  These coins are the first "copper-finished" Lincoln cents produced since 1982 and were created exclusively for the United States Mint Sets.  No Satin finish coins are ever released into circulation or made available individually to collectors.  Satin Finish coins look different from regular coins because the dies are sandblasted with a fine mixture of sand and glass beads.  And Proof coins are unlike regular U.S. coins because they are struck at least twice on highly polished coin blanks to bring out the mirrored background and high-relief images.  They look very different from regular U.S. coins and because of the extra time it takes to strike each coin, only a limited number of Proof coins are produced each year.  They are never made again.

Original United States Mint Sets had to be broken up in order to assemble this 20 piece collection. It is truly a treasure that would be virtually impossible for the majority of coin collectors to put together on their own.  Don’t miss out!
