Burnished Silver Eagle Set 2006 to 2008 West Point Mint

This is a complete set of the first and only three Uncirculated Silver Eagle Dollars to be minted with a unique Satin or “Burnished” finish.  One of the most beautiful coin designs of all time, these Silver Eagles depict Lady Liberty striding forward in a flowing gown, wrapped by the American flag.  The reverse showcases a heraldic eagle, along with the U.S. Government's guarantee that the coin contains 1 Oz. Of Fine Silver.

Each of these 2006, 2007 and 2008 Burnished Silver Eagles is in their original government packaging.  The 2006 coin has the lowest mintage and is also a 20th Anniversary edition: to celebrate 20 years of producing American Silver Eagles, the U.S. Mint created a special burnished coin that was the first of its kind in U.S. Mint history. Mintages of the 2006–2008 burnished uncirculated coins were extremely low, averaging just 540,000 per year versus 14 million per year for the regular silver bullion Eagles.  A collector’s favorite, fewer and fewer of these coins are available in the marketplace today. And there were no burnished coins minted in 2009.

“Satin Finish” coins are very distinct from the regular Brilliant Uncirculated issues that are released to collectors and investors.  Although they are similar in appearance, satin finish coins are distinguished by the use of burnished coin blanks, which are hand-fed into specially-adapted coining presses one at a time.  These coins also carry the "W" mint mark of West Point – the first Uncirculated Silver Eagles to do so.

Protectively encapsulated in clear plastic, and still in their original Mint packaging, this set of Uncirculated Satin Finish Eagles is sure to become more cherished and coveted with each passing year.
