2011 Medal Of Honor Silver Dollar MS70 Grade

The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force that can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.  Fewer than 3,500 Medals of Honor have ever been awarded.  It is presented to a person who distinguishes him or herself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his or her life above and beyond the call of duty.

This 90% silver coin has been graded in perfect MS70 condition and is certified as a coveted "Inaugural Strike" release by ANACS, the official American Numismatic Association grading service.  Coins are graded on a 70-point scale and this coin’s MS70 certification means that this is the highest quality coin available.  The front depicts the three current Army, Navy and Air Force Medals of Honor and the reverse features a contemporary infantry soldier carrying a wounded soldier to safety under enemy fire.

The combined Proof and Uncircuated mintages for this coin totals just 500,000.  Fewer still were from the first day of release and certified as an “Inaugural Strike" issue.  Even fewer were also graded in MS70 condition.  Just 218 MS70 Inaugural Strike coins are available.  They are encapsulated in a tamper-proof holder to protect their condition for the future and to preserve the Inaugural Strike certification.
