2011 Army Commemorative Half Dollar MS70 Grade

The US Army was founded in 1775 and has proudly served our nation for 236 years, protecting and defending our freedom.  Thirty million Americans have served in the Army since the Revolutionary War.  On December 1, 2008, the "United States Army Commemorative Coin Act” was signed into law.  It authorized the minting of $5 gold, $1 silver and half-dollar clad coins symbolizing the traditions and history of the Army.

This coin has been graded in perfect MS70 condition and is certified as a coveted "Inaugural Strike" release by ANACS, the official American Numismatic Association grading service and one of the most respected independent coin grading companies.  The Brilliant Uncirculated MS70 condition means that this is the highest quality coin available.  Coins are graded on a 70-point scale and an MS70 grade means this coin is truly flawless.

Only a very limited number of these coins were available on the first day of issue and just a fraction of those were certified as an “Inaugural Strike" release.  Even fewer were also graded in MS70 condition.  Just 166 MS70 Inaugural Strike coins are available.  They are encapsulated in a tamper-proof holder to protect their condition for the future and to preserve the Inaugural Strike certification.
