2010 Satin Finish US Mint Set - SP69 Grade
This official 2010 United States Mint Set features all 28 Philadelphia and Denver mint coins that are being issued for circulation this year (including the new Lincoln Shield Penny, the first 5 America the Beautiful Quarters and this year’s Presidential Dollars), all produced with a beautiful matte satin (also called “burnished”) finish. Satin finish coins are made exclusively for U.S. Mint sets – none are ever released into circulation or made available individually. And they are the rarest type of coin produced by the U.S. Government - rarer even than Proof coins. Satin finish coins look different from regular coins because the dies are sandblasted with a fine mixture of sand and glass beads.
This is the very finest US Mint Set available anywhere today. The coins are from the first day of release and have been individually graded nearly-perfect SP69 condition by the respected ANACS coin grading service. (“SP” or Specimen State is a term exclusive to these rare satin finish coins.) A limited edition of just 199 first day of release, SP69 sets are available and once these sets are gone, no more will ever carry the “Inaugural Strike” (first day of release) designation.
It would be virtually impossible for an individual collector to put together a set like this on their own. The grading costs alone would run $30 per coin and you can just imagine how many Mint Sets would have to be purchased and broken up in order to find those elusive SP69 quality specimens.
All in all, the combination of SP69 and “Inaugural Strike” makes this set a true collectors treasure. A complete sellout is expected due to the rarity and popularity of these satin finish Mint sets. Reserve yours today before our limited supply is exhausted. A beautiful hardwood display box, a $40 value, is included free to house the complete collection.
