2010 National Parks Quarters Clad Proofs - PR70 Grade

This complete, five-coin Proof Set of 2010 National Parks Quarters honors the Hot Springs, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Grand Canyon National Parks and the Mount Hood National Forest Site. Each clad National Parks quarter is in Proof-70 condition. Proof coins are minted especially for collectors in San Francisco, unlike coins produced for circulation which are minted in either Philadelphia or Denver.

We arranged for the very first " Inaugural Strike“ coins to be immediately graded and certified, and the coins offered here have been independently verified to be in perfect Proof 70 (abbreviated PR70) condition by ANACS, America’s oldest coin grading service. Coins are graded on a 70-point scale and PR70 is literally the highest grade possible. What's more these coins are Deep Cameo (abbreviated DCAM) meaning they are even better and more lustrous than standard PR70 coins. Proof coins are unlike regular U.S. coins because they are struck at least twice on highly polished coin blanks to bring out the mirrored background and high-relief images. They look very different from regular U.S. coins and because of the extra time it takes to strike each coin, only a limited number of Proof coins are produced each year. They are never made again.

The combination of "Inaugural Strike" and PR70 makes these National Parks Proof sets a collector's treasure. However, only 447 sets are available. When they are gone, no more quarters can be certified as "Inaugural Strike." Not only are Proof Quarters issued earlier in the year than quarters minted for circulation, they are also the rarest and best quality National Parks Quarters that will be issued in all of 2010.
