1881 S-Mint "Tombstone" Morgan Silver Dollar MS64 Grade
The 1881 “Showdown at the OK Corral” in Tombstone, Arizona was one of the most famous gun fights in the history of the Wild West. At the time, this authentic 1881 San Francisco Morgan Silver Dollar was the coin of the day during the historic battle between the Earps and the Cowboys. Who knows how many of these silver dollars Wyatt Earp had in his pocket at the time? These are the last surviving specimens from an era when silver was used as real money at the countless saloons and poker tables of the day.
Graded by NGC in MS64 condition, these coins are still relatively affordable when you consider that the same coin just 3 grades higher sells for over $850. Each coin contains 3/4 ounce of .900 fine silver and is encapsulated in NCG’s tamper-proof casing to protect its condition. A free velveteen gift box is also included.
