These coins feature the legendary Saint-Gaudens design that first appeared on $20 gold coins from 1907-1933.  Because they are “Proof” coins they have been struck at least twice under tremendous pressure (regular coins are struck only once under normal pressure) to bring out the beautiful designs and create the distinctive mirror-like backgrounds.

These are the finest gold American Eagle coins available. Each has been independently graded and certified as in perfect Proof-70 condition, which is the highest grade possible.  These 1 ounce eagles are also from the very first day of release at the Mint, earning them the coveted “Inaugural Strike” designation of which there are just 78 specimens available worldwide.  They bear the “W” (West Point) mint mark and come encapsulated in a tamper-Proof holder to protect their condition for the future and to preserve the “Inaugural Strike” certification.  A free hardwood display box is also included with each coin.
